This is a private agreement solely between seller and buyer. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the seller is the rightful owner / acting authority of the plate, and the responsibility of the seller to be satisfied as to settlement amount and method before signing. IMPORTANT If the seller has changed name, address or other relevant details since coming into possession of the plate, OR if the plate had a previous owner and the seller has never had the plate registered on a vehicle, attach a note with details and include with fax to the number above.

INSTRUCTIONS: PRINT two copies of the above form. (The main agreement should fit to one page). Both parties fill in and have both copies signed and witnessed, and the buyer and seller keep one each. This is most important, as are any details of previous owners (the bottom section of the form) to avoid any argument over ownership in the future by others. There are papers initially issued when a personalised plate is first bought. If these are available, the seller should allow the buyer to sight them, and to have them. You should keep a record of the new agreement yourself to show proof of ownership. If you are unable to fax agreement detals to 09 276 9829 then post a copy of the above agreement to "Licensys, P.O. To take plates off your vehicle and exchange for new standard issue plates approach your local vehicle testing station, or the Automobile Association for a replacement plate. This costs about $14.00. If you wish the old (personalised) plates to go on the buyers vehicle, it could be mentioned that you have sold the plates and the new owner will be registering their vehicle with them. To have plates made up to place on your vehicle, phone 0800 REMAKE (0800 736 253), with details of vehicle ownership, present registration plate on vehicle, your address etc. They may need a copy of this sale agreement form sent to them. It takes several weeks to receive newly made plates, and there is normally a small fee payable of $21.00 for standard plates, and $32.00 for other types.
